Alex is a Director of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) based in Johannesburg. With six funds and over $1.6 billion under management, ECP is a leading private equity manager focused exclusively on Africa. Headquartered in Washington DC, ECP has six offices across Africa and a ten-year track record of successful investment in companies operating in over 40 countries on the continent. She is involved in deal sourcing, investment appraisal, execution and monitoring.

Prior to joining ECP in 2008, Ms. Aimé was with Goldman Sachs International in London in the European Special Situations Group where she focused on sub-Saharan Africa proprietary trading investment opportunities. She was previously in the Investment Banking Division – Financial Institutions Group where she advised clients on mergers & acquisitions and financing transactions in the banking, insurance, and asset management sectors. While at Goldman, Ms Aimé executed a number of multi-billion dollar deals in the UK, Continental Europe and emerging markets including Egypt, South Africa, Turkey, and the UAE. She started her career as a strategy consultant with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where she worked on engagements across industries including, financial institutions, retail, and transportation and logistics.

Ms. Aimé graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She obtained a J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School and a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Ms. Aimé is admitted to practice law in New York State. She is a citizen of Haiti and the USA.

Couldip Basanta Lala

Couldip Basanta Lala is co-founder and Executive Director of International Financial Services Limited, a leading management company specializing in international tax, business and corporate advisory services. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has previously been a partner of one of the Big Four accounting firms.

Whilst in audit practice, he has been leading audit assignments of World Bank financed projects in countries of East and West Africa. All along his career, he has been a corporate affairs consultant and adviser. His focus is mainly in the structuring of international private equity and hedge funds. He is a past Chairman of the Stock Exchange Commission. He has also been called upon by Government in the past to serve on commissions and fact-finding committees. He has led and directed the production of the “IFS Guide to Mauritian Company Law”.

Mr. Lala sits on numerous other Boards of Companies, with diverse interests, ranging from financial institutions, private equity and hedge funds, tourism, and general trade business. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Global Board of Trade, a multi-asset class exchange.

Randhirsingh Juddoo

Managing Director - Trident Trust Company

Mr. Juddoo is the Managing Director of Trident Trust Company (Mauritius) Ltd. He began his career in Financial Services in 1996. He was part of the original team when Trident Trust opened its Mauritian office in 2000, and has headed the office since July 2002. Trident’s Mauritius office currently employs more than 30 people and includes a fully developed Fund Administration department. He serves as a Director on the boards of some of the largest Africa development funds and funds investing into India all of which are administered by Trident’s Mauritius office. The promoters of these funds include the World Bank’s international Finance Corporation, the European Investment Bank, the African Development Bank, FMO and BIO.
Randhir holds a BSc (Hons) in Management from the University of Kent, Canterbury and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

Patrick Obath

Patrick is Managing Consultant for Eduardo Associates, a private practice consultancy specialising in Energy, Oil and Gas, Health, Safety and Environment, Board and Corporate Governance and Ethics and cost optimisation in Maintenance Engineering Management and Health Management. Patrick retired from Shell holding the position of Special Projects Manager in the Shell Africa. Before that he was the Managing Director and Country Chairman for Kenya Shell Limited and County Chairman for Shell Tanzania.

In prior years, Patrick held many management positions in Shell and Shell advised companies in Kenya, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Malaysia working in the areas of General management, Distribution, Engineering and Health Safety and Environment. Patrick joined the oil industry in 1976.

He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University and is a Member of the Energy Institute (UK), the Petroleum Institute of East Africa, the Institution of Engineers in Kenya and is a Registered Engineer. He is Chairman of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance – an umbrella business organisation for the private sector in Kenya and Chairman of PZ Cussons EA Ltd . He sits on the boards of African Alliance Kenya Group, Afren EAX plc – an oil exploration company, Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited, Kenya Cultural Centre Council and Liverpool VCT Centres – a health services organisation. He is a Fellow of theAspen Global Network (AGLN) and the African Leadership Initiative (ALI). He was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) by H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya on 12th December 2008.

Mr. Fort is a Managing Director and founding partner of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP). With seven funds and over $1.8 billion under management, ECP is a leading private equity manager focused exclusively on Africa. Headquartered in Washington DC, ECP has six offices across Africa and over a decade of successful investing experience in companies operating in over 40 countries on the continent. In this capacity, he is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending investments, performing due diligence and leading transaction teams. Mr. Fort is also deeply involved with operations and strategies related to the ECP management company.

Mr. Fort joined the ECP investment team in 2002. Before his employment with ECP, Mr. Fort worked for Deutsche Bank AG’s European Healthcare Corporate Finance Group which executed mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies.

Mr. Fort received a bachelor’s degree cum laude in computer engineering with a minor in economics from Lehigh University. He currently sits on the boards of Cellcom Ltd, Wananchi Group Holdings, and New Dawn Mining Corp.

Jeremie Bonnin joined Altice in May 2005 and is currently General Secretary, Head of Corporate and Business Development. Before joining Altice, Jeremie was a Manager in the Transaction Services department at KPMG where he worked extensively in the telecoms area. Since joining Altice, he has been significantly involved in virtually all of the transactions leading to the international expansion of Altice’s footprint (in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Israel, Portugal, the Dominican Republic etc.). He has developed strong expertise in the negotiation and implementation of cross-border transactions and in financial management in the telecoms sector. He is an IT engineer and graduated from the Institut d’Informatique d’Entreprise. He also holds an accounting and finance degree (“Diplome d’Etudes Comptables et Financieres”).

Burkhard Koep has more than 15 years of investment banking experience both in Europe and the US. He joined Morgan Stanley’s European media and communications group in 2002. Prior to joining Altice, he was responsible for Morgan Stanley’s cable, pay TV and media practice in EMEA. He advised Kabel Deutschland on its sale to Vodafone, Liberty Global on its proposed acquisition of Ziggo and Liberty Global on the sale of its content business chellomedia to AMC. He also led the Morgan Stanley teams which took Kabel Deutschland and Ziggo public as joint global coordinator and re-IPOed RTL on behalf of Bertelsmann. He attended the University of Saarbruecken and Michigan Business School and graduated in business administration and finance.

Malo Corbin joined Altice Group in August 2015 as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development before becoming the Chief Controlling Officer for the Group in October 2016.

Malo Corbin was previously Vice President in the Telecom & Technology Group of Lazard covering Europe, Middle East and Africa. Malo Corbin joined the Lazard Group in 2005 and worked on more than €50 billion of M&A transactions, including acquisitions of Altice group.

Malo Corbin graduated from Ecole Centrale Lyon.

Since joining the firm in 2013, he has been involved in various transactions, including the acquisition of Ziggo, stake purchases in ITV and Lionsgate, and the Joint Venture with Vodafone in Holland.

Prior to joining Liberty Global, Saj was a Director at Citi’s Investment Banking division in London, working in both the Telecoms & Media M&A and UK M&A teams and executing various transactions in the Telecoms and Media sector.
